You never know.

I don't think I even want to know how much they shelled out to get Hanks, Hoffman, and Roberts in the same movie in those large roles.

Fletch -

Thanks again for the recommendation of The Nines; I did like it. I had not noticed much about Reynolds circulating around, but I don't even watch TV or read the newspaper so I am completely out of the loop on news and gossip. Although that seems terrible to some, I absolutely love not knowing all that stuff.Davehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10006587494543539846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5913078588713147419.post-58020945262332619272008-05-13T23:03:00.000-04:002008-05-13T23:03:00.000-04:00Glad you enjoyed The Nines. He's got talent, for sure.

Moreover, John August made a fun, deep, just-outside-the-mainstream, and he made it on a budget (filmed at his house, etc), but it looks great.Fletchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17299302086449086987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5913078588713147419.post-25236492833423225892008-05-13T14:41:00.000-04:002008-05-13T14:41:00.000-04:00I wish I could avoid it. My wife skipped seeing this with me now she is dying to check it out.

Needless to say, I'll be seeing it again and if I must, might as well see a different version.

I didn't think about that but Hanks/Hoffman/Roberts don't come cheap nowadays...be curious to see their salary vs budget.WaywardJamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16653916483973674603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5913078588713147419.post-4947292786136512002008-05-13T07:05:00.000-04:002008-05-13T07:05:00.000-04:00The Director's Cut for Walk Hard is probably not f...The Director's Cut for Walk Hard is probably not funnier than the theatrical release. I think it was too long. They even joked about the length on the DVD. If you did not think it was funny in the theater I would recommend avoiding it on DVD.

I was actually surprised about Charlie Wilson's War. I was not excited about it, but it ended up being quite good. I still wish they had had decent special effects though. Apparently the whole budget was spent on the cast.Davehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10006587494543539846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5913078588713147419.post-86781453325666358652008-05-12T13:59:00.000-04:002008-05-12T13:59:00.000-04:00I've only seen Walk Hard & Charlie Wilson's War bu...I've only seen Walk Hard & Charlie Wilson's War but I thought the former only ok and the latter great.

I've toyed with seeing the WH director's cut, hoping it to be funnier than the theatrical. Sounds like it may have been.

Totally agree on CWW, the performances great, the effects bleh, a history lesson worth watching.WaywardJamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16653916483973674603noreply@blogger.com
