You may ask yourself “where do we go from here?” Well indeed that is the question; there are so many movies out there that I just don’t know how I could possibly catch up or discern the best compromise in watching and reviewing the necessary. Possibly I should just start reviewing the new ones, but I love the old ones as well. I always want to have time for the deeper thoughts, but I only seem to find time to watch movies right now. Here is a list of the movies I have watched recently:
Slumdog Millionaire
Milk
Angels and Demons
Marley and Me
The Reader
The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers
Incendiary
Powder Blue
Bride Wars
Chaos
That is just the list of movies that I have watched and need to review that I have not added to my list of movies to review. That list is nearly 80 films and they are sure to be drifting from my overstocked memory banks. If you see a film above that you would like to have reviewed first please let me know and I will try to get to that earlier than the others.
Don’t worry, I will pull myself together one of these days. Getting our house on the market was more work than I could have imagined. Hopefully after getting that finished I will have more time to pour into DMR.

Dave’s Movie Reviews

Dave,
Sounds like you have a lot going on right now! Please review The Reader when you can. I have heard about it, read the video summary, and saw what it did at the Oscars. I can not decide whether to watch it. Just a note: Marley and Me was a difficult movie for me to watch..was expecting more laughs…as one who had a pet who lived for 25 years, it brought back some sad memories. For anyone who has not been close to a pet, I imagine it would be OK.
As always, keep up the good work.
Marley and Me was definitely more of a drama than I was expecting and I think I liked it more because of that. I expected it to be just a mindless comedy, but you are right about it being quite emotional especially if you can relate to the story. Although The Reader is an emotional film which should bring tears to your eyes, hopefully there is much less to relate to in it. That is not to say that the characters are not easily relatable, but that it is easier to distance yourself when it is set in a just post WWII time period. Get ready for a rough ride though. I think anyone who enjoys a good film will enjoy The Reader if they are able to handle the sadness of the story.
Thanks for the recommendation on the review and for your comment!
